Welcome to Dokan Northern League

Dokan Northern League is all about having a good time and encouraging grassroots competitive karate in the North of England. We hope that the Northern League will help nurture and encourage the next generation of karateka in their competitive karate journey.

We aim to provide the opportunity to those new to karate and competition a safe, friendly, encouraging environment to introduce them to the world of competitive karate. There are also divisions for higher grades and adults, so as to provide the opportunity for beginners to watch those with more experience and are hopefully inspired by their performances. 
The Dokan Northern League features 4 individual competitions through the year, 2 in the North East and 2 in Yorkshire. Throughout the league individuals and clubs collect points and at the end of the league, the league individual kata and kumite competitors will be crowned. The Northern League Club Champion Trophy will also be awarded to the club that amasses the most points throughout the course of the league.

Dokan Northern League is run by Dokan Karate Association. The events in the North East are organised by Dokan Karate Club and the competitions in Yorkshire are organised by Ichiban Karate.
